Mrs. Josephine Hux Kittrell, age 85, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at Halifax Regional Medical Center in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Josephine was born on Christmas day, December 25, 1929 to the late William and Mary Jane Hux. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Kittrell; her sisters, Kathleen Hux, Elizabeth Hux, Francis White, Dora Wright, and Louise Jones; her brothers, Floyd Hux, William Hux, and Donald Hux; and her grandson, Mark Jones.

She loved to sing, listening to music, watching old movies and naming the stars in the movies. Her favorite movie was “Gone With the Wind”. She always saw the best in everyone.

“Pheeny” as she was called by everyone has left to cherish her memory, her son, Dennis Kittrell and his wife, Debra of Knightdale; her daughters, Vicki Jones and her husband, Rummy of Roanoke Rapids, Pam Allen and her husband, John of Roanoke Rapids, and Judy Burris of Greensboro; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 30, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Askew Funeral and Cremation Services, officiated by Rev. Maurice Wheat. Interment will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery in Roanoke Rapids. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 3:00 to 4:30 PM at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
